Improvisers are represented by a Magpie for their spontaneity, intuition, and fun-loving personality. They prefer finding their own path to capture unique moments and thrive when they can discover a new approach that works well. Their intuition often helps them shoot scenes where new ideas naturally flow to them. However, due to their impatience, Improvisers need to be solution-oriented and fast-thinkers in order to capture great shots. The key to capturing great photos as an Improviser is by maintaining an easy-going and adaptable approach and that's reflected in their highly intuitive photos.

## How You Approach Photography
### Subjects and Scenes
While you aren't limited by the subjects and scenes you shoot, you often find yourself drawn towards styles of photography that can take advantage of your intuitive and easy-going approach. That makes you naturally suited for street, event, and [pet photography](https://expertphotography.com/quiz/photograph/results/%E2%80%9Chttps:/expertphotography.com/sp/p25-perfect-pawtraits-ad/?cf_1=photograph-result-page%E2%80%9D).
Importantly, you are more interested in having a good time during a shoot than carefully preparing for it. That doesn't mean there can be no preparation involved before taking photos, but rather that composing and shooting a scene should happen at the moment.
### Planning
You understand better than most that consulting the rules of [composition](https://expertphotography.com/quiz/photograph/results/%E2%80%9Chttps:/expertphotography.com/sp/p24-intuitive-composition-ad/?cf_1=photograph-result-page%E2%80%9D) before taking a picture is like consulting the law of gravity before going for a walk. While other types of photographers can be quite meticulous in your planning, you will act on your excellent instinct and intuition. This includes experimenting with different compositions, trying new styles and angles, and not being afraid of making mistakes.
If intuitive photography takes adaptability, Improvisers are the most intuitive of them all.
### Shooting Style
To outsiders, you seem to be the most spontaneous of all photographers. You act on instinct and get absorbed in the action of the moment to capture a great photo. This looks exhausting, but the truth is, you thrive when you're rushing to capture a perfect photo. The thrill of shooting a photo that captures a decisive moment is more than enough to make you lose track of time.
You regularly experiment with unusual compositions, shoot regardless of the gear you have with you, and break the so-called "rules" of photography. Your willingness to take these extra steps is what leads to your extraordinary photos. Since you walk with eyes wide open for a great shot, you will often be found in locations that many photographers don't even think of.
**"So... do you have anything planned?"**
You are often impulsive and energetic which can make other photographers feel excited when shooting together. But you are better off only shooting with others who are equally spontaneous and determined. The last thing you want is for someone to nag you to go home when you're having fun exploring and adapting to different scenes. Shooting according to a detailed plan can be immensely rewarding but you thrive when you get to utilise your intuition.
**Focus On Possibilities, Not Limitations**
It's hard for you to know what you're going to shoot until you see it in front of you. That's why you're compelled to be positive and a fast-thinker when it comes to necessary troubleshooting. Not only does this help to maintaining an easy-going approach to photography, but it allows you to experiment with creative ideas. As you will frequently shoot people and scenes you don't know, you tend to capture exciting and unique moments.
### Processing
You will shoot hundreds of photos in a single day, trying to capture intuitive and defining moments. As a result, there are often many photos to go through at the end of the shoot. While you'll edit your photos, you're really much more excited by the shooting process. You will pick a handful of photos that represent your shoot and process the very best ones.
Once the most defining photos have been selected, you tend to make slight improvements and adjustments to the image.
One thing that can divide Improvisers like yourself is your willingness to manipulate your images in tools like Photoshop. While it's not impossible to find an Improviser who carefully edits their images in Photoshop, the real joy for you comes from capturing great shots in the first place. If you want to thrive as an Improviser, we suggest editing photos so that they look true to the scene you captured.
### Sharing
While your counterpart, the Conductor, will meticulously plan when, where, and how they'll share their images, this is not important for you. You don't have a pre-determined number of photos you'll share, or a caption planned out in your head. You always do whatever feels right for the scene you've captured.
Social likes and comments from friends are nice to have, but for you, the simple joy of a fun shoot is much more important. So long as the shooting, editing, and sharing process feel effortless, you feel happy.
Lastly, as you tend to capture scenes that quickly disappear, your images tend to be quite striking, and people regularly ask you for prints.
